Dr. Jean N. Bassani, RN, DC

Doctorate of Chiropractic

Bachelor's of Science: Nursing

Dr. Jean Bassani graduated Magna Cum Laude from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri and has been in private practice for 18 years with her husband, Dr. Nick Vaccaro. Prior to becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Bassani graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing as an Registered Nurse and Sacred Heart University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked 10 years in the nursing field. 
Dr. Bassani has additional training in functional medicine, blood chemistry analysis, hormone evaluation, whole food nutrition and detoxification. 



Dr. Alan J. Amendola, DC

Bachelor's of Science: Biology

Dr. Alan Amendola graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Bridgeport,

School of Chiropractic, in nearby Bridgeport, CT. During his chiropractic education, Dr.

Amendola served as a student intern at the UB Clinic, and Community Health Centers of Connecticut where he facilitated over 75 new patient consultations, and over 350

patient visits. Through these consultations, he has diagnosed numerous musculoskeletal conditions, and came up with unique care plans specific to each patient’s goals and lifestyle. He was also awarded the Robert E. Vincent Leadership Award, the Clinic Excellence Award, and the Student Clinic Assistantship Award.


Dr. Amendola prides himself in helping his patients through chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue techniques, and physiotherapy procedures. His treatment plans are designed to reduce pain, improve function, and help strengthen and prevent re-injury through rehabilitation protocols.

Dr. Amendola is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences of Technique at the University of Bridgeport, School of Chiropractic.  In his spare time he likes working on his cars, listening to 50's music, and watching the New York Yankees.

Kelly Durrschmidt

Licensed Massage Therapist

Kelly Durrschmidt LMT has a thriving interest in helping people reach their health and healing goals. She graduated in 2007 from CCMT. She received her medical massage certification through an accredited program with Hartford Hospital. Kelly has been in practice for over a decade. Her modalities include, Deep tissue, Sports massage, medical, prenatal, and cupping.

Lawshawnta Hasty

Hello my name is Lashawnta Hasty. I graduated from Connecticut Center of Massage Therapy in Westport in 2006. I concentrate in the areas of myofascial release and trigger point therapy.  I am very passionate about massage and I practice a therapeutic healing touch. My intention is always to help my patients/clients to function better in their daily life. 

Heather Hull

Licensed Massage Therapist

Heather is a 2017 graduate of the Cortiva Institute in Westport, CT.  She began her career at CT Back & Wellness the day she passed the MBLEx.  Heather embraces deep tissue & cupping as her primary modalities to help her clients.  She can also provide a gentle & relaxing experience.  Establishing a last relationship with her clients by helping them achieve and maintain comfort and muscle strength is her primary goal.  

When Heather is not in the massage room, she can be found on her family's house farm with her husband, 2 children, dogs, and her baby goats. 

Lindsay Murphy

Licensed Massage Therapist

Lindsay J. Murphy graduated from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in 2007 and has been practicing her craft for over a decade. Specializing in deep tissue clinical and sports massage Lindsay has always worked in a medical setting. In addition to briefly teaching at CCMT, Lindsay also obtained her 200-hour yoga teacher training to better assist clients with self care routines. She holds a licensed in the state of Connecticut and is a member of AMTA. In her free time, Lindsay enjoys spending it with her husband, Jeff, daughter, Ella, and dog, Gracie.

Carrie Bartomeli

Front Desk Receptionist

Carrie joined Connecticut Back & Wellness in August of 2020 as a front desk receptionist.  She has an associates degree in fashion merchandising and retailing.  Carrie has also attended marketing courses at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT.  She has worked in customer service for over 20 years in retail, and veterinary reception management.  Her focus is always on making patients feel comfortable when visiting.  

Outside of work, Carrie enjoys walking, hiking, and doing anything crafty.
